In simple terms, traveling basically indicates the journey of a person from point A to point B. The starting point of travel need not necessarily begin from the traveler’s house. In fact, it could start from any intermediate point that the traveler stays for a particular period of time. Although various causes can be cited for traveling, tourism is the most common reason. People feel curious about a particular region and hence, they embark on traveling to that destination. Also, traveling is the only manner of experiencing different environments and places.
In case a person travels abroad, an individual needs to ensure that they have the requisite documents such as visa and passport for traveling to a particular country. It is not essential that a person who travels needs to be a stereotype “traveler” in most cases. There could also be other reasons as to why people travel. While some people undergo traveling citing job requirements, others travel due to business reasons or for attending training sessions. Some others embark on traveling so as to gather with friends and family members from far away places.
Traveling Prerequisites:
When a traveler embarks on traveling abroad, he needs to ensure that he has all the requisite documents such as a visa and a passport for traveling to that particular nation. A traveler has to exercise certain care while purchasing tickets. Also, travelers need to stock themselves with cash of the country of their destination.
In ancient period, the mode of traveling was limited to walking on foot from one place to another on land and undertaking long sea voyages while in the sea. Currently, there are various modes of transportation that a traveler can employ for traveling purposes. This may include bus, car, airplane, boat, train, bicycle, or even walking. For traveling over long distances, usually train or a plane would be the preferred mode of transportation. Additionally, for traveling over short distances, bicycle, car, bus or even walking are the favored transportation modes.
For people, who want to travel over short distance but don’t have a car with them, hitchhiking would be the best option. The suitcases or luggage carried by individuals vary depending on the duration and length of the trip. For individuals, who embark on a shorter trip, a tote bag, a knapsack, a small rucksack or a briefcase would be sufficient.
Advantages of Traveling:
There are numerous advantages of traveling. These include adventure, excitement and fun of watching a new place and knowing about the new cultures and customs of that region. However, there are some disadvantages also. While traveling, it may be possible that an individual might not experience the same level of comfort that is experienced while at home. Additionally, there may also be various barriers such as food barrier, language barrier, and social barrier. Whenever, an individual embarks on traveling, he needs to ensure a safe journey.
